Visual Search

ManagedQ is a very cool search engine interface. It runs on top of google, and presents a visual view that aggreggates pages according to people, places, and things. Kind of fun to play with ... but the fact that it requires the Shockwave Player means I can't use it on some of my favorite platforms :(. I very much like the higher-level view on top of the vanilla Google interface. Check it out!

no ads...
Pretty fun to play with. I notice they don't preserve google's ads, so I can't imagine google is too happy with this.
Cool but...
This is really cool! Now the real question: is this something we want to use in our everyday search, or it's just a cool toy to play with only occasionally? I've seen quite a few very intriguing visual interfaces in the past, such as dynamic graph visualization of information and so on. After the initial 'wow' effect was over, I just went back to the simpler alternative.
Let's see...
very cool
screw google...I am so relieved not to have to do a search and not really know what i'm clicking on and finding a blank page riddled with ads. this interface is so much better for skipping the BS
ManagedQ is a really cool
ManagedQ is a really cool new search application. I think their features are really useful for optimizing my searches and I like that there are zero switching costs from Google. The UI is improving too. Once they have that figured out it's likely a winner.
